Out of scope
The work we don’t do. Stating a boundary before the first meeting is cheaper than stating it in the first meeting — in the second case, we both lose time.
We don’t sell off-the-shelf packages
Products are installed adapted to your organisation. We have no package we could describe as “download, install, use”; we don’t install anything without a scoping call.
We don’t guarantee that you will pass an audit
Producing the evidence is our job; the auditor makes the decision. The system itself produces the records an audit asks for — who changed what and when, who holds which approval — but we do not promise an accreditation or certification outcome. If someone does promise that, ask them what the promise is based on.
Not a multi-tenant cloud service
Every installation serves a single organisation — on your own servers or hosted by us; separate database, separate permission scheme, separate backups. Data from different organisations never sits in the same database. This is a design decision, not a shortcoming.
We don’t hard-code organisation-specific business rules
Rules such as which department requests what and who holds which approval are set up through configuration. A rule embedded in code means waiting for a release every time it changes.
We don’t delete records
Records are not deleted; they are deactivated. A wrong record is corrected; the old value, the person who corrected it and the reason remain as they are. Physical disposal happens only when the retention period ends, and it leaves a trace.
These are choices, not gaps
Each of the above is the result of a choice, and each has a trade-off. Not running a multi-tenant cloud service makes scaling harder; in return, no organisation’s data ever sits in the same database as another’s. Not selling off-the-shelf packages makes the sales cycle longer; in return, we see in the scoping call whether the installation fits the organisation.
If what you are looking for is on this list, we will try to point you to the right party — and we will do it in the first meeting, not in the sixth month.
Does your work fit this frame?
Tell us what you are working on; if it doesn’t fit, we will say so in our first reply.
We reply the same day.
